About Mimi
Mimi Masher is a Long Beach-based creative producer, designer, community storyteller, and founder of Silly Girl Skateboards (2006) and Pretty Extra, formerly known as Masher Couture (2013). Known for blending color, creativity, history, fashion, and community engagement, Mimi has spent nearly two decades creating spaces where people feel empowered to express themselves authentically.
Beginning with the success of her interior design business and later turned Silly Girl Skateboards in 2006, Mimi created a colorful, girl-focused brand that encouraged young women to get outside, skate, create, and confidently express themselves. Rooted in positivity, creativity, and individuality, Silly Girl Skateboards became an extension of Mimi’s belief that it was always “OK to be yourself.”
That passion naturally carried into the world of roller sports, where Mimi became deeply involved with Long Beach Roller Derby in 2011. There, she focused on mentoring young skaters and helping develop junior roller derby programs that encouraged confidence, compassion, teamwork, and community. Her early work designing custom roller derby accessories eventually evolved into wearable art, upcycled fashion pieces, costume work, and theatrical designs inspired by vintage aesthetics, performance, and playful self-expression.
Beyond fashion and design, Mimi is widely recognized for her immersive community events, historical programming, creative direction, and energetic public presence throughout Long Beach. From producing themed experiences and hosting events to creating tours, art activations, and preservation-focused programming, her work often combines entertainment with storytelling and community connection.
Today, Mimi continues to create one-of-a-kind fashion, lead creative projects, support local arts and preservation efforts, and encourage others to embrace being boldly, unapologetically themselves. Wherever Mimi goes, things tend to become a little brighter, a little stranger, and a lot more colorful.
